Chalet Sterndolde Penthouse is a modern 2-bedroom holiday apartment centrally located in the family-friendly "car-free" mountain village and ski resort of Wengen. This wonderful top-floor apartment has views of the stunning Lauterbrunnen Valley from its west-facing balcony.
Chalet Sterndolde is located 140 metres (2 minutes walk) from central Wengen, the train station, supermarkets, shops and restaurants. Taxis are available for hire at Wengen station upon arrival if required.
The stylish open-plan living and dining space, with a natural wood ceiling and Scandinavian log burner, gives this a classic modern Alpine chalet-style feel. The panoramic glazed doors to the balcony offer superb views of the mountains and open out onto the west-facing balcony space, perfect for outside dining.
The kitchen is well-equipped for “home” cooking and entertaining. It includes an electric ceramic hob, fan-assisted oven, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher.
The apartment has two bedrooms and one bathroom. Bedroom 1 is the spacious master bedroom with a king-size double bed (160 x 200 cm). Bedroom 2 has two single beds (90 x 200 cm). The bathroom has a walk-in shower and WC.
There is a washing machine in the apartment and a drying rack.

What you should know...
Although Wengen is a "car-free" mountain village, arriving by car is no problem. There is a large multi-storey car park (paid) next to Lauterbrunnen train station, with trolleys for your luggage and lifts to the station platforms. It is just an 11-minute scenic mountain train ride up to Wengen. The trains depart every 30 minutes during the day and every 60 minutes from 21:30 until 02:40 AM. Taxis are available for hire at Wengen train station if required.

It was a very lovely and clean apartment. The Coop is less than a minute walk, so getting groceries was very easy. The apartment had everything that we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay, with an amazing view!

The apartment is well equiped. We arrived early but everything was ready for us, very nice. The apartment is well located and the view from the balcony is great. Would definitely book again.
