Chalet Fortuna 4 Penthouse is a luxury 3rd-floor vacation apartment with south and west-facing balconies with wonderful panoramic views of the famous Jungfrau and neighboring mountains and is located in the family-friendly “car-free” village of Wengen. It's just 5 minutes (350m) level walk to Wengen train station and 450m to the cable car providing access to the mountains and ski areas just a short distance away!
This stunning top-floor apartment sleeps up to 6 people:
Bedroom 1 = king-size double bed
Bedroom 2 = king-size double bed
Bedroom 3 = king-size double bed
All beds are European sizes.
Bathroom 1 = bath with shower overhead and WC (en-suite)
Bathroom 2 = shower and WC (en-suite)

The fully equipped kitchen opens to the dining and living areas with modern stylish decor and high-quality furnishings. There is ski and boot storage in the basement along with washing and drying machines.

What you should know...
Although Wengen is a "car-free" mountain village, arriving by car is no problem. There is a large multi-storey car park at Lauterbrunnen train station, with trolleys for your luggage and lifts to the station platforms. It is just a 14-minute scenic cog train ride up to Wengen. The trains depart every 30 minutes until 9.30 pm and then hourly. Taxis are available for hire at Wengen train station if you require assistance to your chalet.

A lovely three bedroom apartment , conveniently located to Coop and rail station. Beautiful Jungfrau mt. Views. High vaulted ceilings and fireplace , a nice addition. Spacious and beautiful.
No elevator but the steps are gradual.

The reclining chairs seem to be broken on balcony. Many non stick pans were scratched, requested and got one new one. Well appointed unit.

The Fortuna 4 was everything we hoped for. Beautiful balconies. Large kitchen for 2 chefs. Beds firm and comfortable. Easy, quick walk to Coop and train. Spacious laundry room in building that I wish we had taken advantage of before downsizing to a see more

I am surprised a previous reviewer mentioned lack of a lift because the stairs were such that they were very easy to navigate even with luggage. Highly recommend this apt!!

The location is a short walk from the village centre so you don't hear the bars in the evening, but you are close to everything. The apartment is clean and spacious and there are two generous balconies with fantastic views. We were there in a hot spell in summer and it was easy to keep the flat cool.

The penthouse apartment has large, combined kitchen, dining and living room with floor to ceiling windows providing gorgeous views of the mountains and valley. Step onto the balconies for a coffeecocktail and take it all in. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals - even an island for extra counter space. The dining room table seats 8 and the living room furniture is super comfy after a long day of skiinghiking. All 3 bedrooms are spacious and bright - 2 with in-suite bathrooms. The one bedroom without a bath is conveniently just across the hall bath that also has a shower. The building is a very short walk to the town center for quick access to the grocery, train, tourist office, etc... We can highly recommend the Fortuna and Wengen Apartments.

The flat was lovely and very tastefully furnished. The floor to ceiling windows in the living room was the best feature, with amazing, unobstructed views of the mountains.

Booking and communication with Julie was absolutely perfect, leaving no doubts or questions unanswered. Really, very well done! |

We loved our stay and would recommend it to anyone! The owners obviously take great pride in their property and have done a wonderful job creating a welcoming, beautiful space.

So many hikes and places to explore. My husband and I had been here before but we brought the whole family this time. Everyone was awstruck by the beauty of this place. If we are lucky enough to return, we will definitely stay here again. The chalet was wonderful. This has got to be one of my favorite places. It was a treat to cook in the well-stocked kitchen while admiring the mountains. After a day hiking, we could relax with the DVDs, ipod, wifi, and games provided. Also, Julie, the property manager, was so accommodating and easy to work with. I would highly recommend this apt. and company!
